BINGHAMTON (WBNG) – Dozens of vendors took part in Small Business Saturday in Downtown Binghamton.
More than 50 local retailers set up stands at the DoubleTree Hotel to kick off the holiday season.
Guests had the chance to get handmade crafts, cookies and jewelry.
Organizers say this event gives local retailers the chance to make a personal connection with the community to show how important it is to shop local.
“Small business are the backbone of our economy, it’s not just the big box retailers that had their day yesterday, but small business Saturday is really important to keep the money that people are spending in our local community,” said event coordinator, Jeff Gates.
Attendees got the chance to win raffles from local vendors and retailers.
