In-Situ Inc. Acquires Chemscan Inc.

In-Situ Inc. is pleased to announce that it has acquired ChemScan Inc., formerly known as ASA Analytics. The acquisition will expand In-Situ’s ability to serve process applications including municipal and industrial wastewater, drinking water, and other industrial water process markets.

For more than 40 years, In-Situ has been a leader in the design and manufacture of superior water level and water quality monitoring equipment. With the introduction of the Aqua TROLL 600 and Aqua TROLL 500 multiparameter sondes, the purchase of the Australian flow-meter manufacturer MACE, and now, the acquisition of ChemScan, In-Situ is now positioned to become a major competitor in the municipal water, wastewater and industrial process market.
 

Fluence Signs Second Large Contract in Egypt

Fluence ​Corporation ​Limited is pleased ​to announce ​that a ​partnership ​formed between ​its Egyptian ​joint venture ​The International ​Co. for Water ​Services & ​Infrastructure (​IWSI) and ​Hassan Allam ​EPC has been ​awarded an EPC ​contract of $​74 million to ​design and ​construct a 40,​000 m3 /day ​seawater ​desalination ​plant, with ​infrastructure ​designed and ​built for a ​future capacity ​expansion to 80,​000 m3/day.​

In this custom ​engineered ​solution, ​through IWSI, ​Fluence will ​act as the ​technology ​provider, ​designing the ​process and ​supplying the ​pretreatment, ​reverse osmosis ​skids, post-​treatment ​equipment and ​the start-up ​and commissioning ​of the plant ​for a total ​contract share ​of US$20 ​million. Hassan ​Allam EPC will ​provide the ​local works ​including the ​marine design ​and execution ​of the intake ​and outfall. ​Once completed, ​the plant will ​serve New ​Mansoura city, ​which is ​currently under ​construction ​along ​Egypt’s ​northern coast ​on the ​Mediterranean ​Sea. New ​Mansoura will ​have a ​population of ​approximately ​250,000 people ​when its first ​phase is ​inaugurated. ​Given the ​population ​growth of New ​Mansoura, it is ​expected that ​the plant will ​eventually be ​expanded to 80,​000 m3/day ​capacity. The ​plant is ​expected to be ​operational in ​18 months.​

Emerson 2019 ASCO Engineering Scholarship Program

Emerson will begin accepting applications today for its 2019 ASCO Engineering Scholarship program, which rewards students who have potential for leadership and contributions to the engineering profession.

The program awards two $5,000 scholarships to U.S. engineering students, provides $1,000 grants to their colleges’ engineering departments, and hosts the students at “The Amazing Packaging Race” at PACK EXPO International in 2019.

Imagine H20 has selected 120WaterAudit as the winner of the 2019 Imagine H2O Global Accelerator Finalist. A panel of 30 judges representing all facets of the water industry selected the Zionsville innovator from among 13 companies from five countries.
