Reser's Fine Foods investing in tortilla facility | 2018-12-03 - Food Business News

HALIFAX, N.C. — Reser’s Fine Foods, which makes and distributes fresh and refrigerated prepared foods, has announced plans to invest $3.2 million in Halifax over the next five years as part of an expansion project that will create 79 new jobs. The expansion will take place at the company’s Don Pancho tortilla facility in Halifax.

“Our tortilla business continued to grow in the Eastern United States over the past nine years, and it became clear we needed to invest to support both current and future demand in this region,” said Mark Reser, chief executive officer. “The One North Carolina Fund grant, along with the continued support of N.C. Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C., made the choice to invest here in Halifax an easy one. We will expand capacity by investing in new equipment at our existing plant and increase the site’s workforce by nearly 40% over the next five years.”

Reser’s opened the plant in Halifax in 2010 to make Don Pancho brand Mexican foods products.
