Elizabeth Holmes, APRN, has joined Baptist Health Neuroscience Center-Fort Smith as a nurse practitioner.

Inspired by her mother who was also a nurse, Holmes became a nurse in 1994 and now has extensive experience in cardiovascular and critical care as well as emergency medicine. She spent the last four years as a clinical coordinator in the Interventional Radiology department at Baptist Health-Fort Smith, but knew she wanted to pursue her education further.

“It has been my dream for a long time to become a nurse practitioner,” Holmes said in a news release. “I just kept putting it off for kids and other life events until one day I decided it was ‘now or never.’ I just took the plunge and didn’t look back.”

In her new role, Holmes will assist Dr. Mohammad Owais, M.D., a neurologist, in caring for patients in the clinic, as well as the hospital.

“I am patient-driven,” Holmes said. “My greatest satisfaction comes from taking good care of patients. My patients and co-workers can attest to that.”

Baptist Health Neuroscience Center-Fort Smith is located at 1500 Dodson Ave., Suite 290.

Hays and her family have lived in Alma for 18 years. She likes to spend her time at the lake with her family and hiking with her husband. Staying healthy and exercising is important to her as well. She and her husband have two boys.

"The chamber’s role is huge in advocating for the interests of our local businesses and business owners," Hay said in an Alma Chamber newsletter.

Accurso-Owens has worked for United Federal Credit Union since 2008 in a variety of management positions, but recently transitioned to the mortgage department in March of this year. She spent most of her early life in Denton, Texas, but moved to Alma in 1991. After a brief time in Kansas City, Missouri, she knew she wanted to raise her family in Alma and returned for good in 2001. Her favorite way to spend her time is with her family. She is soon to have five children, with one due in January.

McCellon-Allen, an AWIP founder, spent more than 30 years managing distribution operations and a wide-range of customer and regulatory relationships at SWEPCO, its parent company American Electric Power (AEP), and Central and South West (CSW).
