It was apparently not enough, according to an account from police, that a robber TOOK money from a business on Black Friday. He also showed the wrong slant on Small Business Saturday.
On Friday, police said, he went into a business in the 900 block of Bladensburg Road NE, and displayed a pistol. In an action that ran counter to the Black Friday principle of paying money in stores, he instead, according to police, demanded money. He got it, and fled, the police said.
The very next day, police said, Saturday, he was back in business again, according to police. Just before 9 p.m., the said, he went into a business in the 4000 block of Georgia Avenue NW. Again, police said, a gun was shown. Again, according to the account, instead of putting money in cash registeres, he took money from them.
In between, they said, he went into a business in the 1900 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE, about 7:20 p.m. and pointed a gun at someone in there, apparently an employee.
The employee fled to the back, police said, and the gun-pointer . However, police said that what he did constituted an assault with a dangerous weapon.
They described him this way: black and male, with a light complexion. He was about 5 feet 7 inches, and slim. When last seen, he wore black pants, a gray hooded sweater, and black gloves.
In addition, they said, he did something that most of those who enter businesses on small black Friday and Small business Saturday, do not do. When last seen, police said, he wore a black ski mask.
