American Express offering rewards for shopping during Small Business Saturday

(WEAR) —

Black Friday sent millions of shoppers into malls and big-box stores on Friday looking for big deals.

However, many people will be focused on locally owned stores Saturday as Small Business Saturday picks up steam.

The yearly event encourages people to shop at locally owned stores.

Many will offer special deals and extended hours to attract bargain-hunters.

"You're supporting those business owners. You're supporting businesses that do things in Pensacola and for Pensacolians," said Blue Angels Music Marketing Director Dan Fugate. "The better the businesses in town do, the better the city is as a whole."

American Express is offering rewards and incentives to cardholders who shop at certain small businesses on Saturday.
