Clay promoted to shareholder at Contryman
Jill Clay, a certified public accountant, has been promoted to shareholder of Contryman Associates, P.C., effective Oct. 1.
Clay started her public accounting career in 2003 and joined Contryman Associates in 2013.
She has been responsible for planning, conducting, managing and reviewing accounting and auditing engagements for employee benefit plans, governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations and for-profit businesses. She also has expertise consulting with clients in the areas of internal controls, budgeting and accounting issues. In addition, Clay has experience preparing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals and benefit plans.
Clay has more than 13 years of public accounting experience.
Originally from Gibbon, she received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and human resource management from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, as well as a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Doane College. She is a member of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Contryman Associates is a certified public accounting firm with offices in Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, Lexington, Scottsbluff, Central City and Geneva.
Gossman joins Grand Island Physical Therapy
Jeff Gossman has begun work at Grand Island Physical Therapy as a physical therapist.
Gossman will be providing assessment and treatment of sports-related injuries, cervical pain and lumbar pain, as well as post-surgical patients.
He has a bachelor of science in exercise science from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Gossman has five years of experience as a physical therapist. He previously worked at Overland Rehab in Creighton and Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Harvey earns Nurses Making a Difference Award
Nurse practitioner Mark Harvey has been selected as a 2017 recipient of the Nebraska Center for Nursing’s Nurses Making a Difference Award.
Harvey works at Mid-Plains Center for Behavioral Healthcare Services Inc. in Grand Island. He was nominated for this award by Cathy Phillips and Linda Lazure for his contributions to the advancement of the nursing profession and nursing in the community.
An award ceremony and luncheon are planned for Nov. 3 in Omaha in conjunction with the Nebraska Action Coalition’s Better Together Conference.
Harvey works as a nurse practitioner in the Mid-Plains Center Outpatient Medication Management Clinic.
Buettner attends marriage, family therapy conference
Anne Buettner, a licensed marriage and family therapist and psychologist associate practicing in Grand Island, attended the Nebraska Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Association fall Conference Oct. 20 in Omaha featuring “Understanding and Intervening in the Problems of Families through the lens of Attachment and Trauma.”
Stefanie Armstrong, co-founder of The Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska, was the presenter. The attendees learned the family therapy component of the integrative team treatment for attachment trauma protocol. They learned methods to help parents heal and integrate the child’s brain, and they learned to use techniques to remove shame and create new insights.

Copsey completes advanced hand therapy training
ORD — Occupational therapist
Jamie Copsey of Valley County Health System in Ord recently completed advanced wrist and carpal rehabilitation training, further enhancing hand therapy and treatment options available at VCHS.
The course, led by Shrikant Chinchalkar through Rehab Education, LLC, in Kansas City, Mo., focused on wrist movement and managing conditions that affect the wrist, including forearm and hand fractures and post-surgical rehab.
Copsey and Brenda Lansman provide hand therapy to VCHS patients in Ord, Burwell and Loup City.
